Deadpool(2016): A fast-talking mercenary with a morbid sense of humour is subject to a rouge experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and a quest for revenge.



The controversial situation: The film was banned in China for the scenes of graphic violence, sexual references and nudity shown throughout the film.







The Interview (2014)Dave Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapoport run the celebrity tabloid show "Skylark Tonight". When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, they are recruited by the CIA to turn their trip to Pyongyang into an assassination mission. 

The Controversial situation: North Korea didn't take kindly to the parody and threatened 'merciless' action action against the US if 'Columbia Picture' released the film. However Sony released the film on the internet and it became one of their most successful online movies despite the mixed reviews.  






Aladdin(1992)
When a street urchin vies for   the love of a beautiful princess, he uses a genie's magic power to make himself off as a prince in order to marry her. 

The controversial situation:
 Righteous indignation centred on the fact Aladdin and Jasmine we always unveiled, the turbaned characters we bald and all the villainous characters were Arab caricatures.



TV Shows

South Park
It is regarded as one of the most politically incorrect and insulting  TV shows. The show is a cartoon which are generally associated with children adds to the controversial subject of the show. South Park has been known to deal with topics such as homosexuality, bestiality, religion, and promiscuity the kind of things you don't normally expect to see on TV.


Luck: 

A TV series centred around characters who are tied to the same horse-racing track.
The show was cancelled after the first series due to the safety concerns. The safety of the series' working environment was called into question by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which criticized Luck over the injury and euthanization of two horses during filming for the pilot and the seventh episode. The American Humane Association (AHA) said both racehorses "stumbled and fell during short racing sequences" and that "the horses were checked immediately afterwards by the onsite veterinarians and in each case a severe fracture deemed the condition inoperable." HBO pointed out that precautions had been taken: each horse was "limited to three runs per day and was rested in between those runs." On March 13, 2012, HBO agreed to suspend all filming involving horses while investigations took place over the death of a third horse.


Video Games

Grand Theft Auto Series: 

The video game series has  themes of sex, drugs use, racism, nudity, language, drunk driving and violence. In Grand Theft Auto V , one mission sees the character Trevor Phillips torturing another character in several different ways, including water boarding, pulling out teeth and administering electrical shocks to the nipples.




Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2:

Activision later removed the Favela multiplayer map from Modern Warfare 2 following complaints from Muslim gamers, which shows picture frames on the second floor bathroom of one building within Favela. When viewed through a scoped weapon, the frames contain a quote from Muhammad that translates to "Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty", according to Islam Today. One of the paintings is located directly above a toilet.

Robin Thicke 'Blurred Lines

 Robin Thicke described the video 'We tried to do  everything that was taboo. Bestiality, drug injections,  and everything that is completely derogatory towards  women.' The three of them are happily married men. 

 The video sees women strutting around in little to  nothing, even one topless in very high stilettos.








Sia - Elastic Hearts

The video, sees 12 year old Maddie Ziegler and 28 year old Shia LaBeouf cage-fighting in a skin coloured leotard and pant's. It was one of the more controversial videos of 2015 as critics claimed it had paedophilic overtones.
